Seattle Washington

Seattle. You have my heart. I could never afford to live with you, but I will visit you any chance I get! This last weekend I took a trip to Seattle, and spent a good few hours at the market with just myself and my camera. I absolutely love Pike Street Market. The people, the colors, the smell of the flowers and STARBUCKS! I love it all. Enjoy!

International Women’s Day

“I am a strong woman because a strong woman raised me.” ~Unknown

International Women’s Day. Women celebrating women. Women standing together. I had the privilege of photographing an International Women’s Day event in March. The day was full of women supporting women, laughter, food, fun and vendors! Here are some of the photos from that day!

Sierra – Roosevelt High School Senior

It’s Sierrrrrraaaa! I had to, and I always greet her like that when I see her! Last year I had the pleasure of photographing her brother, Rayquan’s senior photos – now I was lucky enough to photograph her. We ended up picking the windiest day on the waterfront, but we made it work. The light was perfect. The color was perfect. Sierra was perfect. Enjoy!

The Grotto – Portland, Oregon – Spring

The Grotto is a national Catholic shrine dedicated to Mary, Our Sorrowful Mother, which is a ministry of the Servite Friars – Order of Friar Servants of Mary.

The Grotto strives to provide a welcoming presence and a beautiful environment conducive to peace, quiet, and spiritual inspiration.

The Grotto offers understanding, compassion, support and hope through a variety of ministries such as spiritual direction and liturgical celebrations.

The Grotto endeavors to serve all people.

I have made two separate trips to The Grotto – PDX and have fallen in love. With the beauty, the quiet, the peace. Every time I visit I always have to go to the upper gardens and just walk around with my camera. Here are some of my favorite photos that I have taken. You can see more of my work featured on The Grotto’s social media platforms via Instagram and facebook! Enjoy!

Puppy Kisses

The dog is the perfect portrait subject. He doesn’t pose. He isn’t aware of the camera. ~Patrick Demarchelier

How adorable is Toby?! This little guy is full of energy and will exhaust you before you can exhaust him! The quote above might apply to most dogs, but not Toby. He wanted to eat the lens the majority of the time I was with him. Enjoy!

So This Is Love…

My heart has wings and I can fly
I’ll touch every star in the sky
So this is the miracle that I’ve been dreaming of
Mmm mmm mmm
So this is love

~Cinderella

A few weeks back I got to spend an extended weekend in Southern California. The weekend was jam packed with activities such as avocado picking from a backyard tree (I almost didn’t come home for this exact reason…), seeing and meeting Disturbed in concert, photographing the CUTEST pug EVER (more on that later…) and also…photographing two amazing friends with huge hearts.

I became friends with Steve & Stephanie through a little photo sharing app called Instagram. Yup. We are all die hard Disney fans – they are the lucky ones that live in SoCal and can go all the time. 😉 When I told them that I was going to be in California and wanted to meet up, I offered to do a photoshoot for them. Little did I know that they were going to be surprising ME! They ended up taking me to DISNEYLAND with them! (Insert excited emoji here 😉 )

We walked endless steps through both parks, drank our way through DCA, and laughed so hard that we cried while flying through space. While we enjoyed our time together in the parks, I snapped some of my absolute favorite photos added to my portfolio to date.

What I love about these photos, is that it actually captures the real S&S! Please enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. Hopefully there will be more Southern California shoots in my future. 😉

South Portland YoungLives Shoot

I had the pleasure of volunteering my time to photograph young moms for the group, YoungLives of South Portland.

From their website:

YoungLives is designed to empower and equip pregnant and parenting teen moms.

Our program teams up with a group of leaders, mentors and volunteers who provide timely encouragement, guidance and ongoing support through deep mentoring relationships and lasting friendships. YoungLives’ resources provide the basic and unique needs of a teen mom and their child. In addition to the resources we provide, we also offer a monthly Club.
Club allows teen moms to take a break from the daily stresses of going to school or working while having to navigate being pregnant or parenting as a teenage mother.

Our volunteers are committed to share the everlasting hope of Jesus through unconditional love, and support. It is our mission to serve and walk alongside all teen moms who have made the very difficult decision to become a parent. We believe every teen mom’s story is unique and important. All are welcomed!
I had so much fun, and feel so happy to have given these young moms family photos that they can cherish forever.

Jessica || Rex Putnam Senior Session

I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica (and her BEAUTIFUL CAR!) for her senior photos. Jessica was so spunky and so easy to photograph. I hardly had to tell her what to do, she just rolled with it and the camera LOVED her! See for yourself!
